Is There Any Problem For Premature Delivery?
Hi,my wife is expecting and she was totally asked to take rest completely for another 2 weeks as she is in her 34th week of pregnancy due to the reason being the uterus has become soft and a scare of premature birth....I wanted to know what if the baby is born in 35th week itself inspite of all the rest she takes..

I understand your concern.. It always better to go till 36-37 weeks atleast. At 35 weeks, lung maturity will be there but baby might be underweight. Survival rate is high at 35 weeks. but some babies might require NICU admission. Less birth weight have complications like hypoglycemia, hypothermia, respiratory depression. Take steroid injection to prevent complication of lung maturity. But dont worry. Wait for 1 more week to deliver. Hope I have answered your query.. Good day.
