Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
A couple of days ago I was taking my temp with a very old thermometer and the tip broke off. All the mercury in the bulb and in the thermometer was in the back of my mouth and in my panic to get the glass out of my mouth I swallowed the mercury. I have had a lot of nausea and some vomiting since that time and don t know if I have the flu or if it is from the mercury. Is this a serious problem? From what I see on the Internet, most don t seem to think so.
