Is There Any Remedy For Severe Itchy Back?

I am 82 years old and have a severe itchy back.I have to have my wife rub my back with alcahol before I can go to bed.This helps a little but not enough. I try rubbing my back on a door jam so hard that it hurts and I can't stop the itching until my wife rubs alcohol on. This is only temporary untill the next day. Can you help me?

Hi itchy rash on the back can be due to dry skin.it can be cured by atarax 25 mg at night.antibiotic twice daily and application of moiste cream along with flucort cream in the night can cure the condition
If still no cure go for short course of steriods
