Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is There Any Side Effect From Long Term Use Of Paracetamol?
I HAVE BEEN TAKING 2 PARACETAMOL AT BEDTIME EVERY NITE FOR A YEAR, BUT LAST WEEK FOR NO REASON FOR 3 NITES I COMPETELY SOAKED THE BED IN SWEAT. AS THIS COULD NOT KEEPUP I STOPPED TAKING THE PILLS AND STRIPPED OFF NUDE AND IT STOPPED THE SWEATING. LAST NITE I TOOK 2 PARACETAMOL AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE PAIN IN MY NEW HIP JOINT AFTER SOME EXERCISE AND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NITE THE SWEATING CAME BACK FULL FORCE. ALSO MY URINE IS DARK AND CLOUDY AND BURNING WHEN PASSED. I AM 77YRS OLD
HI WELCOME I HAVE GONE THROUGH YOUR QUERY. WHAT IS THE REASON THAT YOU ARE TAKING PARACETAMOL EVERY NIGHT. AS YOU ARE TAKING IT FOR LONG TIME, IT MAY PRODUCE NEPHROPATHY. I WOULD SUGGEST YOU TO SEE DOCTOR AND GET YOUR KIDNEY FUNCTION TESTS DONE. I THINK NIGHT SWEATING IS LESS LIKELY TO BE RELATED TO THE DRUG. This provisional advice provided by me is based entirely on the input provided to me. I would suggest examination by the doctor.
Hope this helps. Take care.
