Is There Any Treatment For Sever Pulmonary Tuberculosis Other Than Surgery?

Hello,
My friend affected by Pulmonary tuberculosis. Now she is in under treatment. Doctor told that have to remove her left side lung because its fully infected. We are scaring about her life after that surgery. Is there any option to do without surgery? Her age is 27.

Hi,
Surgery is rarely done in tuberculosis of lungs. However she can an undergo surgery if she is having recurrent blood tinged sputum or drug ressistant tb. She can safely undergo surgery if other lung is fine.
I would suggest you consult another pulmonologist bwgore taking sich a critical decision
