Hello'
It seems from the history that your friend is having loss of vision because of accident leading to injury to the occipital lobes. The visual pathway lies in the occipital lobe and any damage to this may lead to complete loss of vision, hence the chance of visual recovery are remote if there is damage to the occipital lobe.
But I advice you to consult your doctor for examination and confirmation of diagnosis before coming to conclusion of no treatment.

Thank you
