Is There Any Treatment To Cure A Heart Which Works Only 10%?
My brothers heart is only working 10%.he had 5 bi passes a year ago and difibulator put in 11miths later. Doctors said they can t ever do any thing else and he is short of breath . They want to put him in a transplant list !! He is 58 years old !! So scared for my brother, lost a brother when he was 40 of lung cancer !!! Need to know an answer, thank you for your time .
I can understand your concern for your brother and will try to help you in the beat way possible. It is unfortunate that he is having severe heart failure. And the only thing that can help him is a transplant only. So you need to plan in that direction. However in the mean time you can observe precautions like fluid restriction to less than a litre a day, avoid sitting with legs down, avoid lying flat and sleep with bed proped up at 45 degree angle and take the medications regularly as precribed by your doctor. Also consult him regarding the immunisations that can be offered for him.
Hope it helps.
Regards Dr Manish Jha
