Is There Any Way To Confirm Diagnosis Of Depersonalization Disorder?

I am a clinical psychologist, and have a 7-yr. old patient whom I believe has depersonalization disorder. Seh states I feel like I m not really here. No history of trauma per mother. Child states she hears voices that are mumbled, and says it s God talking telling her to be good. Thoughts are logical, Associations are intact. She has done well academically and has good verbal abilities. Is there a way to confirm this diagnosis or some other differential I should use? How would I go about treating this if it ?

Hi,

ithout an exam, I can only give general information. But certainly the hearing voices with a religious nature is typical for schizophrenia. The personality disorders, pretty much by definition, do not have large effects like hallucinations.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
