Is There Anyway To Detoxify Myself While Trying For A Baby When Treated For PTSD?
Dear Dr. I m using the generic for lexapro for PTSD treatment for 7+ months, we are considering having another child and I m wondering if there are any problems with fragmented sperm that I should worry about. Furthermore, is there anyway to detoxify myself for a period while we try?
In my opinion you should continue treatment at-least 5 more months (total 12 months) before tapering medicines under your psychiatrist supervision to minimize risk of relapse of PTSD symptoms. Same time start some non drug treatment like CBT and EMDR to control PTST symptoms.
During this period you can try for baby with your wife, without worrying about fragmented sperm, which is very uncommon with lexapro.
Wish you good health and all the best.
