Is Thick Phlegm Discharge Normal Post Bronchitis?

I was diagnosed with acute bronchitis about a month ago and took all my medication and for the most part I feel better. I still have a slight dry cough that will sometimes procedure a thick almost gummy phlegm. Not as often as when I was sick and no fever. Should I be concerned or is that just the after effects from the bronchitis?

Hi! it is common to have some complications, post acute bronchitis like consolidation/chronic inflammatory focus in the lungs, fibrosis or viral / tubercular infection or pleuritis!

Therefore it is common and usual to have productive coughs like your case; irrespective of any associated symptom, we need to examine the sputum / secretion under microscope to see if anything wrong!

Therefore, please see a chest physician for chest x-ray and a sputum test and relevant management.
