Is This Dosage Of Tramadol Intake Advisable For Chronic Pain?
I have an employee who is taking 50ml Tramadol for excessive pain, he drives a company vehicle and I am extremely concerned about how this affects his ability to both work and drive......he says it doesn t affect him and he only takes one tablet on a morning but I know how strong this drug is ??
Hi there! Tramadol is an opioid pain killer and is sedative. It is commonly prescribed for chronic pain especially in combination with Paracetamol as it is safer for chronic consumption. most people get used to the sedative effect of the drug and they also tend to get addicted to it as it an opioid (similar properties to opium). Normally in people used to taking it chronically it shouldn't be a problem. However if used in combination with Alcohol or lack of sleep it can cause extreme drowsiness. I think you need to speak to him about a different pain solution as he is a job where he can put a lot of lives at risk. Especially as drivers are known for missing sleep and driving long hours. Hoping this was useful.
