Is This Procedure Of Medication Safe For Person Suffering From Osteoporosis?
My husband has osteoporosis and Multiple Sclerosis recently DX at the age of 59! His MS med has just about depleted his lymphocytes and will stop MS medication per the VA. Is it still ok to have a Reclasp infusion with a compromised immune system? Thank you. Cheryl
Multiple sclerosis is as autoimmune disease affecting the nerves. The patients may suffer relapsing and remitting episodes. There are two types of progression, primary and secondary. Disease modifying agents are the only treatment modality followed in the world.
One of the major side effects of the treatment is lymphophenia, decrease in the white cell counts. Lymphophenia results in immunocompromise. Infections are common in these people. The disease cannot be cured completely. The treatment subsides the symptoms and prolong the progression of the disease. So, continue with the infusion for better lifestyle. Protect him from the infection.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
