Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My platelete count is 704, I am scheduled for bone metros biopsy in 2 days. I am healthy, no symptom, exercise regularly. I have been on Simvastatin for last 10 years even if my cholesterol level down to normal now. Is there any effect Simvastatin done my thrombocytosis ?.
That is unlikely, but theoretically not completely impossible. It makes sense to do the biopsy and then, if there is nothing, try a pause from simvastatin for a few weeks and see your platelet count again.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
