Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was wondering if enlarged thymus gland problems run in families? What are the chances of enlarged Thymus gland being cancer? What are a full list of symptoms from enlarged thymus as I have one and have also had a back and neck injury and kinda need to determine what is what on symptoms.
Hi I have gone through your written complaints. Its important to know your age and symptoms before going for a diagnosis.you are saying thymic enlargement.it is commonly seen in children, usually go off with age.some conditions are hereditory like myesthenia gravis which are associated with thymic enlargement.lymphomas also associated with thymic enlargement.symptoms depends on disease itself and few depend on pressure symptoms, due to compression over major vascular structures.if myesthenia gravis ,ptosis(upper eye lid dropping,)muscle weakness wil be there.if due to lymphoma , may present with recurrent infections, blood abnormalities and complaints like face swelling etc...so go for complete clunical examination & scanning to know the cause . Thank you Regards Vasundhara
