Is Thyroid Biopsy Required If USG Reveals Thickening Of The Isthmus?
Ultra sound of thyroid revealed a thickening of the isthmus ( 1.0 cm) and in the left half of isthmus an ill-defined nodular density (1.3x1.1x.9 cm)..not hypervascular or associated with calcifications. Would you recommend a biopsy? Also the left lobe of the thyroid is mildly hypervascular.
Hi thanks for using Healthcaremagic I don't think that the thickening of isthmus requires an FNAC now ,but needs follow up.The nodule requires needle aspiration. The size of the nodule is more than 1cm which means it requires evaluation. Nodules more than 1cm is significant and requires evaluation.. thank you...
