Is Thyroidectomy Advisable For A Person With Benign Nodules And High Thyroglobulin?
Hi, it was one day that I found that my right node have enlargement from the outside. I got it checked the very next day for bloodwork and ultrasound. All result were ok but for peace of mind I ask my family doctor for a specialist. Ive seen my specialist after 2 weeks and had recommended a biopsy for my teo nodes plus another bloodwork. Result came back as benign but both my nodes are a bit bigger than normal. Another ultrasound and bloodwork were done after 3months and came out that my thyroglubolin was very high but all other results were fine even the antibodies. The specialist gave me an option for a non emergency removal of my thyroid for peace of mind but it is me to decide. I will be coming back in feb 2016 to check another bloodwork. Could you please give me any advise of my situation?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, if this is the thyroid lesion or swelling of thyroid gland, (cystic ) disease then first it need to be given try with medicine most of the time it comes around with medicine alone if this is not then you can think about the surgery, hope this information helps.
