Is ringing in ears unable to hear anything else another symptom of a stroke.my 28 yr old husband just had a stroke, and was on life support. The tinnitus went away afyer 24hrs but it came back another day later and he is deaf except for loud ringing in ears right now. He is exhibiting multiple stroke symptoms including unable to keep O2 sats up, seizures, numbness and weakness in his leg, and his blood pressure keeps bottoming out.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Yes, tinnitus and hearing loss can be caused by stroke. What is however more disturbing is that he is still developing symptoms. That is quite rare in stroke. Most often stroke develops one time symptom and mild variation. New symptoms do not develop unless there is a new stroke. This phenomenon is more common to demyelinating disorders. So I suggest you meet with your neurologist again to have a new MRI Brain and decide accordingly. Treatment is quite different for both. As for a very low BP, I think he should be admitted and evaluated. Low BP in itself is a factor that suggests admission. I hope that helps. Best wishes.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
