Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Tiny Itchy Blisters All Over Buttocks Area Indicate HPV Infection?
Doc, have red blisters sores all over my outer buttocks area. I m v clean been with same man for 6 years. Believe he could of cheated on me or something never had anything like this b4. Very worried went to docs says may be HPV. He burned off sores now many others appeared. Was is going on?
Now the diagnosis does really depend in the blisters. If these are fluid filled blisters, I tend NOT to think of HPV but rather something like SHINGLES, if the area is painful or tingling in any way SHINGLES is more consistent with that. HPV lesions are solid and contain no fluid in them, so they will not show any drainage or "weeping" of fluid from the area. HPV lesions can occur in this area, but I do have to say that is not that common to see.
IF he cauterized off the lesions, and more reappeared that does is not what I expect at all with HPV but rather some other viral cause here like shingles. The ideal way to verify the case here is to have the area biopsied that will confirm this one way or another, but I hope the above description can give some insight.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Simple test Pap should be done in your case, to know HPV DNA test is available! I cannot comment without looking at you or your examination! Moreover, the immune system is responsible!
