Is Tonsils Surgery Safe When Having A Nexplanon Implant?

Hi , I just got my nexplanon implant on March 6 , ive been have tonsillitis for 2 months , and I been through two treatments with antibiotics , but still hasn t gone away . I wanna get my tonsils out , does it matter if I have my nexplanon . ? Please try to respond. , I can t deal with this pain of my tonsils no more.

Read and understood your history and concerns.
One can certainly have any surgery including tonsillectomy with Nexplanon
Only precaution is to get the coagulation profile and watch for deep vein thrombosis as Nexplanon can increase the chance of having DVT .
Secondly, since you have pain and have active tonsillitis, the surgery can be bloody, painful post op and so on.
I would advise you to take a second opinion of another ENT Surgeon get the clinical investigations like the swab from the infected area, blood culture and sensitivity done to get the correct antibiotic and anti-inflammatory course done. Medicines may help to get a cure and also important is to see the focus of infection like in sinuses, caries teeth and so on.
