My 26 year old niece was diagnosed with leukemia last Dec. She has had rounds of chemo and radiation as well as a bone marrow transplant. The doctor just told her mother that she may never get off the ventilator. They have had her in an induced coma for a week (2nd time so far). Will she need a tracheostomy to survive?
HI Well come to HCM I really appreciate your concern, tracheostomy is not needed in case of leukemia but may need ventilator but this is only needs in very critical condition hope this information helps, take care.
