Is Traveling By Air Safe After Suffering A Head Injury?

My mother-in-law fell and hit her head on a concrete floor. She does not have a concussion, but has a large bump and open wound in her left frontal area and has swelling and severe bruising/fluid around the eye. Is it ok for her to fly home from Mexico to the United States

Mostly. And mostly the cabin is pressurized so there isn't a lot of change in the surroundings with the air travel to do much. BUT, if it is an unpressurized cabin and the pressure drops, then swelling will increase and it might be a problem. If there is irritation/concussion, then bouncing up and down in a plane or doing jumping jacks will be equally uncomfortable and some slight risk of seirous problems but if bouncing around hurts, then there is a 100% chance the plane ride will be quite uncomfortable.
