Is Treating Chemical Burn With Vinegar Safe And Effective?

Hello My question is related to chemical burn treatment. My husband had direct contact with chemical he uses in his powerwashing business- the contents is aluminum acid and he uses this for washing aluminum tankers. Some of this chemical had direct contact to skin on his arm. He was told to neutralize the burn site with white vinegar. Is this the correct solution? What about silavdene cream - will this help or hurt himS?
