Is Tremethoprim Safe To Use For UTI When There Is Nausea, Abdomen Cramping, Tender Breasts And Negative Pregnancy Test?
Hi. I've been to the hospital with severe cramping and distension of the abdomen and nausea. I was diagnosed with a UTI and prescribed trimethoprim as pregnancy test result was negative. However when they performed the test I was not due on my period until possibly a couple of days later. I currently also have tender breasts which are swollen and the veins are more prominent and have been for the last week. Is it possible that the negative result is a false negative as the test was done to early (like that of a home pregnancy test) and is it safe to take trimethoprim?

Trimethoprim is a most potent drug uses in U T I and also equally very good drug for infants .
Except nausea, vomiting , cramps it don't causes much discomfort .
As in your case you can use it safely even before any home pregnancy test positive or negative i. e safe for you and fetus ( if pregnancy).
