Is Turmeric Effective In The Treatment Of Arthritis And Inflammation?
I am trying turmeric for the first time for arthritis and inflammation. I am using Spice Islands ground turmeric. How much can I safely use? The recipe for my smoothie calls for 1/2 TBS. If this helps with my inflammation, can I increase the amount of turmeric? Your site recommends a certain amount of extract, but does not mention the spice.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Turmeric is full of natural anti oxidants. It is very good natural remedy for pain and inflammation. So you can definitely take turmeric for your arthritis pain and inflammation. Take it for 10-15 days. If it is helping you in reducing pain and inflammation, you can definitely increase the dose of turmeric. No harm in it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
