Is Ultrasound Of Leg Necessary Even After Pain Has Shifted To Tailbone Area?
I am 35 weeks pregnant and was having pain in my right leg/groin area. My dr. said it could be the baby pressing on a nerve or a blood clot. She ordered a Venus doppler flow last week just to make sure it wasn't anything serious. I am scheduled to go today to check it but since then the pain has moved to my tailbone area. It has been really painful to walk. My dr. is out of the office today. Should I go through with the ultrasound on my leg even though the pain has moved or reschedule after I see/speak to the dr about the pain moving to a different part. I don't want to waste anyones time with them checking an area where there is no pain.
Hi, Thanks for using healthcaremagic. As per your history, I think there is no need for an ultrasound now. The doctor wanted you to undergo ultrasound to rule out any blood clot. If there would have been a clot, the pain would have increased and there would have been more swelling in the leg rather than the pain being shifted to tailbone region. I think the pain is caused by the baby compressing on something within the abdomen - ? nerve. Anyways, an ultrasound of the leg would not be of much use now. Hope it sorts your problem and wishing you a speedy recovery. Regards,
