Is Unilateral Headache A Complication Of Septoplasty For DNS?
hello sir,i wanted to ask regarding my sister's health she is 19yrs old.she has on n off left sided unilateral headache since 1.5yrs.. each episode stays for nearly 1.5 months she had undergone septoplasty for left sided dns.. she is taking topomac 100mg and libotry ds daily..is dis headache a complication of her surgery
Regarding your query I would like to say that DNS left means deviation of nasal septum to left side which will creat nasal obstruction on left side. Due to DNS there are chances of recurrent cold, blockade of osteomeatal complex.
After correction of septal defect patient feels easy breathing. As far as post operative same side headache is concerned , it may be due to relative congestion of sinus mucosa, because of nasal packing and this may be manage by antibiotics and decongestants. But if even after above treatment your pain persists than consult your surgeon.
Regards.
