Is Unsteadiness While Walking Side Effect Of Adding Oxygen To Apnea Treatment?
I recently had oxygen added to my treatment for sleep apnea. An oxomitry (?) test showed my levels dropped below 90 several times during the night. Aside from the shortness of breath, could the unsteadiness while walking I have been experiencing be a side effect of this condition.
Thanks for your question on HCM. I think high CO2 (CO2 narcosis) is the cause. In sleep apnoea patients baseline co2 is high due to the disease. This CO2 narcosis cause giddiness, unsteadiness, sleepiness, tremors etc. And it is very serious and life threatening condition. I advice you to consult sleep specialist and get done Arterial Blood Gas (ABG) analysis for diagnosing CO2 narcosis. And simple oxygen is not useful. You have to take with pressure through BIPAP mask. So better to consult sleep specialist and discuss these things.
