Is Urinary Catheterization Required Life Long In Case Of UTI?
Hello Mam, I have query about my mother. She is 59 yrs old. she was hosptalized for 11days due to pneumonia on 20th June. But she was not fully recover even after discharge. she always feel lassitude. after 2 and half month she got fever. she under gone diagnosis & found Kidney function is down. Kindly specialist checked & confirmed right kidney is shrunken & Left kidney is working with hyper and suggest to contact urologist as the problem with urine infection. Urologist suggested for urine culture test & ultra scan pre & post urine pass & found urine is not dischargin fully & it is stocking. It is causing for infection. urine has been taken out through the pipe. During the treatment of Pneumonia & urine infecton plenty of antibiotics given. we belong to lower middle class family & not afford for huge medical expense as i bared already. Kindly help in suggesting the below queries. queries. 1.. will there be any side effect in futute due to antibiotics? 2.. is there any problem for kidneies? 3.. will urine stocking continue in future? 4.. Does it need to be taken out through the pipe life long? 5.. how long she should take complete rest? 6.. what kind of precaution to be taken? 7.. what kind of food to be given to her? 8.. During Pneumonia treatmet we did not find kidney & urine problem. what would be the cause for this? 9.. will there be any other health problems in future because of this?
* The initial therapy with foley`s catheter might be a demand of time. But it does not mean life long catheter requirement.
