Is Using Anovate Safe Insted Of Having A Surgery For Fissure?
Hi I am 40 years Male, and currently having fissure in anus for last 3-4 weeks. Its painful when I go for toilet in the morning. I had gone through 3 surgeries earlier for treatment of piles and fissure. Now scared to go for any more surgery. Currently I am taking veg diet and using diletor no.5 .Also applying Anovate on fissure. But it seems very slow recovery, what do I do to get relieved from pain and get this fissure heal.
Anovate cream does not help in healing of the fissure. Anovate cream is a combination of a steroid (beclomethasone), a decongestant (phenylephrine) and a local anesthetic (lidocaine) commonly used to treat pain, itching, swelling, and discomfort associated with anal fissure.
However, it is found that steroids reduce healing of anal fissures, and can create a chronic condition hence not advisable in your case. I suggest a steroid free ointment such as 0.2% nitroglycerin which may help healing a long-term anal fissure thus avoid possible surgery.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
