Is Using Bacitracin Safe For Redness On Penis Of A Child?

How do I use bacitracin zinc ointment ups on my 2 yr old penis. The doctor said to apply it on the red part of his penis but won t it hurt I m scared is it safe? If I apply it on his penis do I put the ointment on the layer of his penis or the inner part of penis please help

Bacitracin ointment is an antibiotic. It works by stopping or preventing bacterial infections by either killing susceptible bacteria or inhibiting their growth. Hence, this medication is used to prevent minor skin infections caused by small cuts or scrapes.
As your doctor has advised, kindly apply it as a thin layer over the lesion after cleansing the area. It does not hurt and is safe for use for small lesions over the skin. Ideally, it needs to be applied thrice daily.
Kindly avoid friction in the area and put loose fitting undergarments till the lesions heal completely.
Kindly follow the instructions as suggested. The lesions should heal gradually.
