I have understood your agony.
Yeast or Candia problem has to be treated as Candida problem only. Applying corticosteroid to it may flare up the infection.
These fungal infections are nasty and do cause reinfections. Have you followed the following norms while on the treatment?
1. Both the sexual partners have to take the treatment simultaneously irrespective of the presence or absence of treatment.
2. Have to observe absolute sexual abstinence till both of you are declared completely cured.
3. Before starting the treatment, pubic hair should be shaved otherwise the discharge gets painted up at the hair root causing irritation.
4. Underwear to be boiled every day for 20 minutes to disinfect the discharge painted in the cloth.
5. Use of panty liners.
6. After successful treatment, change the underwear, discard the previous ones.
7. Confirm by vaginal examination by a Gynaecologist that you are completely cured.
If the infection is cured, your itching will go. If it is not cured, use of
corticosteroids will be just temporary and will not give you permanent relief.
I am sure you got your confusion cleared.
