Is Using Diflucan Safe To Treat Allergies?

My daughter saw an allergist yesterday and was given two scripts.. One is singular the other was diflucan. I know that is an anti fungal and I ve never heard of it being used for allergies.. She checked with the pharmacist and they believe the filled it correctly. The doctors office was not open today so she ll have to wait until Monday to check with them.. Just wondering if you ve heard of it being used for this indication.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
Singulair contains montelukast, which is used to treat symptoms of allergies in adults and children above 6 months.
Diflucan contains fluconazole, which is an anti-fungal medicine and is treat infections caused by fungus.
Hence, it is not 'diflucan' which is used to treat allergies but the other drug prescribed namely 'singulair'.
Hope the information is now clear.
All the best.
