Is Using Fucidin-H Advisable For Cold Sores And Inflammation On The Nose?

I had suffered with what I thought were cold sores on my nose for years and was given all the usual treatments but they inflamed the infection and made them worse, a doctor prescribed a friend and also me with Fucidin H so what infection could it be as I have read Fucidin H is not for cold sores?

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of cold sores and inflammation on the nose which is mainly due to irritation of mucosa, vitamin deficiency and underlying diseases that weaken immune system. It is mainly herpes infection. They usually go away by their own without any treatment in week or two or by avoiding trigger factor. I would suggest you to apply some antimicrobial ointment and start multivitamin supplement containing vitamin B12 and folic acid. Take mild steam inhalation to avoid inflammation of nose. If condition persist after 2 weeks then consult dermatologist once and get complete examination done and start treatment accordingly.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
