Is Using Jaydees Contraception Advisable While On Levothyroxine For Hypothyroidism?

Hi! I m trying to use the Jaydess Long-Term Contraception but I have hypothyroidism since I was 12. The past mont my doctor says that my TSH changed and now I have hyperthyroid but that was the same when I was 14 and the hypothyroid came back... so he just lowered the dose of levothyroxine to 1/ 4 tablet (I was on 1/2). Would you think if is ok if I have the Jaydess? Thank you! I m 28 years old, never pregnant.

Hello,

Oral contraception and Levothyroxine can be safely taken together. You will need regular checks with your doctor to determine the dose of Levothyroxine needed for you and also check for possible side effects of oral contraception.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
