Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mum aged 84 has vertigo. How can she tell if it is just vertigo or the result of a mini stroke. She has had a CT scan and one doctor has told her she may have had a stroke at some stage. Would a neurologist visit be the best referral? Is vertigo curable?
I read carefully your query and understand your concern.
The symptoms seem to be related to benign paroxismal vertigo. I suggest using Meclizine hydrochloride three times a day for relieve. I also suggest to avoid salt in the diet.
Hope my answer was helpful.
If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
Kind regards!
