Is Vitiligo Controllable?

Hello my cousin had got vitiligo and is taking Dicaris-150 mg, per week two tablet. He is taking the medicine for past 3 years and the disease is quite controlled. I want to ask that how long he is suppose to take that medicine, I mean is it for whole life or he can stop at some stage?
