Hi I had a c section 12 days ago. I have 2 elder sons who are 3 and 1.5 years old. It's hard to take complete rest though I have people to help. Is it ok to move around slowly and attend my kids. I'm taking care only not to bend and lift weight. I'm walking more time as I heard it heals the stitches. Is that ok??
Earlier ambulation(walking) is advisable for mothers after caesarian section. Initially the stress on abdomen should be kept at very minimal. Avoid walking upstairs, bending, lifting weight and coughing or other moments that increase pressure on the abdomen. And gradually increase the walking without undue pressure on the abdominal wall. And yes ambulation helps in wound recovery as well as avoids some undesirable effects also. So keep walking but be cautious and do it in increments without much pressure. Hope this helps. Thanks.
