Is Weakness In Leg A Side Effect Of Glipiside?

since last summer i have been having weakness in my legs and general fatigue. i am diabetic and have been taking metformin for several years. last spring the va doctor prescribe glipiside and cut down on the amount of metforin. i read the one of the possible side affect of glipiside is leg weakness and fatigue. i suspect that is what is causing my problems but i not sure.

Hello,
The most common side effects of glipizide are nausea,vomiting pain abdomen and less common side effects include hepatotoxicity,rashes,leucopenia etc.
As far as fatigue and leg weakness is concerned it can be due to uncontrolled diabetes,deficiency of VIT D and VIT B12.
Longterm use of metformin is known to cause VIT B12deficiency.
Consult your doctor and get levels of VIT D and VIT B 12 measured.
