Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 21 year old male starting a 20mg dose of Paxil. Lifting and my body are pretty much the only things in the world I care about. I m terrified by the reviews of paxil saying the ssri packs on weight. I would like to know if you anticipate a weight gain in my situation? Also I take prework out stimulants and post workout protein bcaas and vitamins. Can I continue to do so on paxil?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if weight gain a side effect of paxil. Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to side effects of paxil . Paxil is an antidepressant in a group of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors I would suggest you to consult your doctor who prescribed you this medicine and discuss the condition . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribe substitute . For now do light exercises like yoga and meditation , eat light specially at night and frequent meals .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
