Is White Liquid Accumulation In The Jackson-Pratt Drain Due An Infection?

my husband has had a surgery and has a JP drain in Yesterday I noticed that the color in the JP drain was turning to a whiter color instead of the red from the blood. Was wondering if it could be an infection? He has no fever and is not complaining of any pain.
