Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Is Withdrawal From Warfarin Advisable For A Afib Patient?
I am an AFib patient, right ablation in 2013, left cryroablation in May 2017. My electrophysiologist has me on warfarin, 7.5mg six days a week, 10mg the last day. She started the discussion today to see if I wanted to get off warfarin and on to one of the newer four, Xaralto, Eliquis, Pradaxa, or Savaysa. I am researching the cost/benefit analysis of each.
As per your history, yes you can switch to tab. Xaralto from tab. Warfarin after consultation. For that you have to monitor Prothrombin. Tab. Xaralto with less side effects and better absorption. Definitely its a better option.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
