Is Withdrawal Of Doxycycline Advisable While Starting Amoxicillin?

hi, I have a ?, I came down with lym dieaise on 26 auguast, was given doxiclicline ,took it and on the 3rd of September had a tooth to absess, called dentist he could not give me amoxicyline cuz f being on doxyclicine , well by Saturday, half my fae was hurting nd swelling, so clled another dentist cuz my dentist is out of town,he isgonna do root cnel tomarrow, and sience I ha swelling he told me to stop doxycline and gave me amoxicyline, I asked pharmacist if this was k and she said yes but stop the doxycycline, is this ok to stop the doxy and start the amoxcyline .

Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query.
The abscess can be treated with a combination of amoxicillin and metronidazole (if you are not allergic) which is most effective. If you are taking these drugs then you need to stop doxycycline, because it is given in gum infection. Do saline gargling. Get the tooth treated with root canal treatment, the problem will be solved.
