Hi doctor, My mother had cholelithiasis since 2 years and she is under treatment.sometimes she feel some chest discomfort also..so the docter suggested to take ecg and in that they find little variation and following tht she also undergo TMT.The result was negative for inducible ischaemia but the docter correlates the result and he is suspecting some small amount of block and give her chloperidol..after taking that she feel too much discomfort of chest and stomach and again she consulted docter and docter said to stop the medicine for 2 mnths..she is taking cholestrol tablets also..her age is 50. And my qstn is..is it ok to stop that medicine..or any other risk regarding that??
You should not stop taking Haldol abruptly as it may lead to the development of withdrawal symptoms such as confusion, delusions, hallucinations.
For less severe withdrawal symptoms and best results, slowly taper off of this medication. Consult with your doctor before reducing or stopping your use of this drug.
