Is Wounding Injury Through Rusted Nail On Palm A Cause For Concern?

Hi I got stuck with a nail on my palm. It didn t go in deep but enough to draw pin size amount of blood. The nail was rusty and was in a piece of wood out on my balcony 5 floors up. I immediately squeezed to draw blood and ran alcohol over it. Do I need to worry?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain as you have got a rusted nail from a wooden piece of window that has stuck in your palm and has lead to bleeding that too only a very little amount of bleeding does not need to be worried about as it will get healed soon ..

But as the iron was rusted it will be better if you get a tetanus toxoid injection taken as a precaution..
You can also apply antibiotic ointment over the area of injury to prevent infection..
Do cool compresses to relieve inflammation..
Anti-inflammatory painkiller like Advil or tylenol will help in relieving pain if it is painful..
It will hopefully resolve within a week.
