Is Yellow Bowel Movement Normal After A Colonoscopy?
Hi Dr. Dorian Oana, I had my colonoscopy on Friday 6/15/18. Two 4mm and 5mm polyps were removed during the procedure. Today is Monday 6/18/18; I still have the yellow mucus stool. Is that normal? Other than that, I have no pain, fever, or blood in stool.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The first bowel movement after a colonoscopy may contain dark red oroses yellow. Alcohol should be avoided for at least 24 hours after sedation. You should drink extra fluids to make up for the water lost during preparation for the procedure. Symptoms will go away on it's own in a few days.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
