Is Yellow Mucus During A Sinus Infection While On Antibiotics A Concern?
Hi, I developed a sinus infection on sunday and on monday was prescribed roxithromycin 150 mg. Whilst today I feel physically stronger, I have a temp 0f 38 and feel chilly. I still have the poisonous smell and taste and a cough. the mucus is yellow. I had a lung infection last year and I feel similar to that. do I need to get checked again or do I need more time on the meds first. Adrian
As you have developed a sinus Infection and just started taking antibiotics, you need to just relax as it takes time for the Infection to subside..
Yellow mucous is due to Infection ted mucous that accumulates in the sinuses due to Infection..
So my suggestion is to continue taking antibiotics. You can also take anti allergics like Levocetrizine, and cough expectorant Gueifenesin.. Do steam inhalation, saline nasal irrigation. You should drink more of warm fluids and avoid warm and spicy foods..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
