It Isn't A Common Occurrence For My Throat To Hurt,

It isn't a common occurrence for my throat to hurt, but this time it is particularly painful. Every time I eat any food it hurts in the back of my throat, past my tongue. It has hurt for over a week and I do not think an ulcer can form that far back in my throat. I drank some honey and tea but it doesn't seem to be aiding. I checked online and causes ranged from over-consumption of sugar to tight neck muscles. What, from a doctor's standpoint, is most likely causes these pains?
