Itching, Bumps, Slight Redness In Injected Area. Injecting Gestone After Ivf Treatment. Advise?
Hi there I have been injecting gestone every other day after IVF treatment to support my pregnancy. I have been injecting in my right buttock as I cannot reach the left.. Yesterday and today the injection area is itchy and bumpy and slightly red. Should I be worried I've been injecting for 4 weeks with no problems so far. Can I inject in my thigh instead?
Hi and thanks for this query. I a so sorry to hear about what you have been experiencing.
Having these signs and symptoms after multiple injections is possible. The first thing to do is to try and administer the injection on a different site. However, if you are not experienced at administering injections elsewhere, consult a health facility where you would be taught how to do this.
Administering on the thigh is a possibility. If you have never done this before, please visit a health facility and get helped and trained for the first injections. Also, you may want someone to help you administer on the left buttock.
Hope you find this information helpful. Feel free to return and request for more. Wish you good health and all the best with this pregnancy. I know how much you want it! Dr. Ditah
