Itching In Groin, Black Discoloration Of Pubis And Thigh, Bleeding Spots In Scrotal Area, Tender, Painful
i am a 26yr old male, suffering from itching in the groin area for the past 10-12yrs. there is black discoloration of the skin of the pubis and thigh, and flakes off. often bleeding spots can be seen on the scrotal area which are very tender and painful to touch. occasionally small lumps can be felt around the groin area. i used a cotrimasole cream for 1month, to no avail. any idea what i may be suffering from?
Due to to repeated itching also the color of skin is likely to change into black.
Itching of groin region may be due to
1. Ring worm infection (dermatophyte)
2. Seborrheic dermatitis.
3. Pubic louse infection
Small lumps may may be furuncles secondary to itching and scratching as bacterial infection.
For fungal infection sometimes topical Clotrimazole alone may not be sufficient. Oral systemic treatment with antifungal antibiotics and antihistamines for 4-6 weeks. Consult your dermatologist and he/she will help you.
