From the description you have given, it sounds more likely that
you have a fungal ( yeast) infection which is due to Candida.
Candida infection is common in areas with skin contact,
with moisture and warmth. However, no matter how disturbing it
may be, it is a relatively benign condition which is very easy to treat
with antifungal drugs such as
miconazole,
clotrimazole, mycoster etc;
except in the case where it is super-infected with bacterial, antibiotics
will then be added to the treatment.
Another possible cause could be trauma following persisitent friction
following a very long walk.
There is no need to be ashame to see a doctor, because what happens between you and the doctor stay in the consultation room unless the doctor wants to be sued.
